My boyfriend has anger issues

I’m really in need of advice. Do any of ya’lls boyfriends have anger issues?

I’m on my wits end with him. This is how the situation always goes. If I have a problem with something in regards to something he did to upset me I always try and talk to him calmly about it first. Most of the time it escalates and we get into a big fight and it ends with me continuously trying to get him to understand how I feel about the situation but he gets so angry even if it’s something little to the point where he says I talk too much and he’s even told me to “stfu you talk too much”.

(I also struggle with chronic depression so when he says stuff like that it hurts next level cause I already struggle to articulate how I feel cause I feel like no one cares sometimes)

And then when the rolls are reversed I really try my best to understand where he’s coming from and even though I don’t agree with him sometimes I still apologize for making him upset. I feel like I do it all the time and I’ve even expressed to him that I always ask for him to apologize and then he does do it after I ask him but it also feels forced when I have to ask him to say sorry.

Recently I’ve stopped being so understanding and put my foot down and not have been so apologetic and now he’s saying I never own up to what I do and never apologize. (So far I’ve only done it twice) And he’s been saying I don’t listen to him ever but then I try to say to him how do I not listen to you when I apologize for everything I’ve done to make you upset? Sure sometimes I fight about it with him but again even if I don’t agree I still genuinely feel bad for ever making him upset so I still apologize every single time.

I just want to say I am really happy with him but this is our biggest problem. And idk good ways to try and get better communication :/
