Choking on heartburn?!

Question

Everytime I lay down I feel as if I will choke on my own vomit? I’ve tried tums and rolaids. Sometimes 4 at a time with no relief. Please help me 😫😫😫

I have the same issue and I will fall asleep and wake up choking it’s so gross and scary , I also tried tums, gaviscon and they did nothing , i stopped eating after 8pm and found that i dont get the acid reflux anymore :)

I drank some OJ the other night before bed (yea I know...crazy) I mean a huge cup. Fell asleep....30-45 later acid reflux hit and it choked me so bad!!! I was legit scared AF!!! Never really experienced acid reflux...and def not while pregnant. Needless to say no more OJ for me until after little girl gets here.

I have heartburn every night, which ends with acid reflux and a sore throat if I don’t sleep propped up. My doctor recommended propping the head of my bed 6 inches, this will be the next thing we try if it continues to get worse. Currently, I sleep with 3 pillows and my pregnancy pillow wrapped to keep me from rolling off the prop. Good luck, I hope it subsides soon.

I can totally relate! I’m taking Prilosec daily hut going to ask my doc to switch me to Prevacid as that was working better otc before getting Prilosec prescription. In the meantime, try to identify the foods that trigger you - for me
It’s bell peppers, onion and garlic powders, ice cream, chocolate anything, and bananas. What also helps me is taking probiotics as the bacteria helps keep the stomach in shape with proper digestion. Also, try to eat smaller meals more frequently. When you overload your stomach, it’s got no where to go but back up 😫

SAME. It’s the worst. I’ve found that sleeping propped up and not eating/drinking anything that triggers it within 2 hours of laying down has helped. If I do feel hungry before bed, I only eat watermelon. I also do take tums before bed sometimes if I feel like I had a heavy dinner, just in case.
Literally took a few drinks of lemonade before bed the other night and woke up choking. Felt like I couldn’t breathe. It was HORRIBLE.

I was having the same issue and had the same thing with my son 2 years ago. My doc just prescribed me Prilosec and it’s a game changer. Take it before bed every night and it hasn’t been an issue

Tell your doctor! They can prescribe you medicine. Also Pepcid helps a lot!
