Birth & engagement ring

I gave birth to my daughter almost 14 weeks ago now. I swelled up like a balloon towards the end cuz I had severe preeclampsia. My engagement ring hasn’t been able to fit my finger for awhile so I haven’t been wearing it. I hoped I wouldn’t have to get it resized if I didn’t have to. Well like I said it’s been 14 weeks now and it still won’t fit. Should I give it more time or is this probably as good as it’s gonna get and I need to have it resized? Has this happened to anyone else?
