Babies eczema really bad any experience???

My 7 month old nieces skin had a really bad breakout. The doctor said it’s a severe case of eczema but we are getting conflicting info from
Health care professionals about how to treat it. Has anyone had personal experience with this and has something worked?? Little trooper smiling through it all. ❤️

My daughter had it really bad as well. The only thing that helped was a cream with steroids. She’s 2 now and has outgrown it thankfully, but if all else fails try it.

Find the food trigger and eliminate it- dairy? Eggs? Wheat? Nuts? 
Otherwise what is being used for washing detergent, soap, etc

Steroid cream low dose. You can try ones without but the steroids work best. Try not to put bubbles or anything scented in the bath, free & clear detergent, I used a dove unscented soap bar and eczema cream/lotions

My daughter has bad eczema, however it’s now under control due to Aveeno. When her eczema does flare up we use the complete Aveeno eczema line - they have an oatmeal bath, a soap, a lotion and then a nighttime balm. We do it all. When it’s dormant we use the regular Aveeno baby wash and lotion and Fairy Tails shampoo/conditioner. Anything else will just destroy her skin.

Yes!! Aveeno makr really awesone oatmeal bath powder, I would bathe in that and make a paste out of it, apply it to my skin and wrap with a lukewarm rag. I also stopped using soap on my body. I found this cleanser that was mostly oil based and only used soap on my puts basically. Aveeno also makes a super great eczema ointment. I would apply that multiple times per day. I skipped the lotion until it was more under control because it didn't so much but burn. For my daughter, I have been able to control most of her mild eczema with Johnson's shea and cocoa  butter lotion (yellow bottle)

We used oat meal baths and we actually used aquaphore 3 in one rash cream . It does wonders for all kinds of things including eczema

Coconut oil!!! Went through this with my daughter and they wanted me to put a steroid cream on her. One of the side effects was possible permanent discolouration of skin. Lotions are water based and don’t actually help all that much with dry skin! You need an oil based emollient. Limit baths, luke warm water, fragrance free everything.

Mom of an eczema baby/kid we did oatmeal baths, and aveeno lotion, also she should be getting bathed daily, once every few days is better for eczema. Sometimes no matter what you do to prevent flair ups they happen and will need steroid cream to clear up unfortunately. My son is now 8 and we’ve had to use steroid cream 3-4 times his whole life.

My nephew has eczema and my sister found out when he was a newborn. She used the aveeno eczema bath and oatmeal lotion. It helped without having to give him steroids.
Also no fragrance soaps or washing liquid.
