Birth Control help with Hair Growth?

I’m reaching out because Ive had irregular and heavy periods since I was 12 when I started. I got bloodwork done to see what was causing them to be so intense and they said nothing was abnormal other than my testosterone levels were slightly higher than normal. All they gave me was the combo pill and said it would help with extra hair growth that i was experiencing. I took that pill for over two years and it never helped. Have you ladies experienced the same thing and gotten results with other birth control methods? I wax but my hair still grows back thick and dark.
