Bottle nipple as shield

Has anyone else ever used a bottle nipple as a nipple shield??? I've tried a nipple shield and my LO just manages to rip it off in a matter of seconds no matter what I do. I decided to try the tommee tippee nipple as a shield and it's a huge SUCCESS! My boy has had issues latching since day 1 so we've been pumping and bottle feeding! So relieved this actually worked!
