Lockdown romance?

This guy, I was speaking to during lockdown we became really close and would call each other most days and nights - watch movies tv and share similar interests. We even celebrated one another birthdays ( as he lives alone ) during lockdown and face time. We planned so many things together and couldn’t wait see one another for the first time.

We did fall for one another during lockdown - I met him about 2 weeks ago. I just had a text saying " he’s found someone else he’s more interested in” why didn’t he take into account we have been speaking for 4 months. I am heart broken into why he’s done this?
