Bleeding before period

My period is 4 days away. I have had extremely sore breasts for the last few days more than I am used to. I took a test and it is negative. However when I go to the bathroom I noticed a tiny bit of blood in the toilet. It was a public bathroom so I thought huh is that from someone else? But I wiped again multiple times and there was dark blood along with a red/pink very light color which I guess would be spotting as it was not heavy. I have never had this before and always have very heavy noticeable bright red periods for 4 days always with extreme cramps. Has anyone experienced this bleeding as an early sign of pregnancy, but still tested negative 4 days before?
