Baby’s nursery?!

When did you all start buying big furniture pieces and do you wish you started sooner/later??
I’m 22 weeks today and am not sure whether it’s too early to be buying big furniture!!

With Covid shipping being slower than normal I wanted to make sure we had plenty of time - we got a lot of things from friends, but everything else we’re slowly starting to buy now (I’m 19w) cause I figure if we do it gradually it’s much less of a stress - and financial wallop - all at once later.

20 weeks we bought the crib. I’m 22 now and we’re looking at the dresser so we can get organizing. Next we’ll look at the rocker probably in a month or two.

Definitely not too early, start buying and get it put together. Furniture can take a month or more to get to you and you don't want to be messing with that super pregnant. We were done by the 3rd trimester and will be done even earlier this time. I truly don't understand why there's this thought that jts too early, there's so much to do if you don't start early you'll run out of time.

I would advise to get it on order as soon as possible. We ordered a set at Easter and it turned up mid July. When it arrived the set wasn’t manufactured correctly and the cot wouldn’t even go together. We complained to the company and they were very unhelpful and it was finally collected this afternoon after threatening to take legal action against them. We ordered a new set earlier this week and it was delivered this morning but meant our options were limited and had to pay more. We are now waiting on a refund for the returned set. I would rather have it early so it can be set up ready for bubba in plenty of time otherwise it could cause a lot of stress the later it gets.

I purchased her furniture at 7 months. But delivery was delayed because the set was coming from another state and my due date was the end of January so delays due to weather happened. I ended up getting the set when I was 36 or 37 weeks. The dressers came already built and alls we had to do was build the crib and attach the changing table topper to the dresser. With how easy set up was (had my fiance and a friend do it in an afternoon) I wouldn't have done anything sooner. I also planned for my daughter to sleep in my room until at least 6 months so even if her room wasn't totally ready I still had time to get it all together. For me as long as the furniture was put together and there was a mattress in the crib I was happy
