Will the piercing close?

So I’ve had my lip pierced since 2013. Lately it’s just been bugging me lately & I wanna take it out permanently but I HATE how the piercing looks without jewelry. Will the hole ever close after having jewelry in it for 7 years straight (obviously not the same ring)??

I got spider bites at 17 and have had them for about ten years now. I rarely wear jewelry in them out in public (pft, haven’t been in public in months thanks to covid) but at night I’ll pop a ring in so they don’t close..
Prior to the spider bites I had just one that I had for a year and my mother made me take it out when I got into trouble (was my punishment). It closed within days. Nobody can see it but it was also done quite low in a terrible spot.
If I go 2-3 days without anything in my current piercings it’ll be hard to get a ring through the middle because it starts to close.

I took my lip ring out about 15 years ago and still have the scar. I only had the piercing for about 3 months

I had my lip pierced for literally 1 month over 11 years ago and it closed right up but I still have the scar. Worst mistake of my life 🤦🏼‍♀️

Yep I took my lip ring out and the inside closed super fast like within days. I still have the outside hole/mark and it’s been almost 5 years
