Membrane sweep?

Hi.
Im 39 weeks and was wondering if I can request a membrane sweep? 
Or does there have to be specific reason to get it done, do I have to be past my due date? 
Yes I know each doctor works different just curious to see whats more common? 
I have my appt tomorrow so I will be asking my Dr.

I had one at 38 weeks and will be getting another done today at 39 weeks.

My midwife tried to do one at 39 weeks, but I wasn't dilated far enough for her to.

My OB offered at my 38 week appointment. It’s definitely worth asking. I think you just need to be dilated.

My midwife offered to do one at my 39 week appointment, and I had one done at 39 weeks for my previous pregnancy.

At my 37 week appointment my dr said she could do it if I wanted at my 38 week appointment. I’m choosing to go all natural and let my body do what it’s meant to do, but yeah, I believe they will if you ask.

You can request one! At my clinic they offer them every weekly appointment once you are 38 weeks.
