Our little girl is here! Successful Vbac!

Our story is a little long.. Thea was born on 8/12/20 at 4:50 pm! We had a scheduled c section on 8/13 for 7:00 am, she decided she wanted to have her own birthdate! Our Vbac was successful and I am so thankful since I have a 3 year old at home who is a total Momma’s girl! I went to labor and delivery on 8/11 with extreme pain in my lower left side of my stomach along with some random but consistent contractions. We get to labor and delivery and my contractions are not very strong but my blood pressure was through the roof. I haven’t had any blood pressure issues this whole pregnancy so it was strange. At my hospital we have a ton of new resident MDs, one of them checked for cervical dilation. I was only a 1 and 50% effaced.. and a little disappointed. After waiting for a little while my contractions were still consistent but no cervical change so the plan was to discharge me after they did a membrane sweep. Luckily my super attentive nurse mentioned that my blood pressure had been high (they were swamped with babies at this hospital). We needed up staying an extra hour or so due the blood pressure issue, during that time my contractions became super intense and I was dialing on my own. We were then admitted and a cervical ballon was placed which progressed me to a 3. After that they broke my water and I stalled at a 5. After some major prayers we decided that we were okay with a small dose of Pitocin to progress things along. That really kicked my contractions into gear and within an hour after the Pitocin I felt the need to push. The nurse was surprised and wanted to check my cervix to make sure that’s what was happening. Sure enough I was at a 10 and her head was right there! I pushed for 30 minutes and she was out! The only set back was a pretty good tare.. but we are so blessed to have our little girl here! 💕 Sending all of you ladies lots of prayers and good vibes for the arrival of your little ones! 💕
