Which age group is the most expensive?

I’m thinking family and friends pays for most of the baby baby items so outside of the items needed for the first year of life, which age group is the most expensive?

They are turning 11 and 8 in like two weeks.
They eat so damn much, and grow out of clothes so fast. They want fancier presents for holidays.
It adds up quick!

I have a 3.5 year old, a 2 year old, and a newborn. I cloth diaper and breastfeed so I've been able to avoid most of what makes babies expensive. I would imagine that teenagers are more expensive, especially those too young to have a job.

Depends on formula fed or breastfed. Daycare or stay home. Expensive tastes or thrift stores. Sports or not. Helping pay for college or kid on their own. 
Kids are just expensive. If you use daycare and formula I’d say birth to kindergarten is the most expensive and teenage years. 
At this point (20 months) my sons only big expense is daycare. I spend a lot of money on him and I really should quit lol. But other than daycare the only things I’m having to buy is groceries. He needs some new tennis shoes right now but I’m just going to wait until it cools off because I’m not spending $40+ on a pair of shoes he’s not going to wear much.

I don’t know, my girls are 3.4 and 8.5. My oldest has been in dance since she was 2 so that’s an experience plus sports for both...I think there’s a lot that goes into it from every age! They’re all expensive...all ages! 😅🤣

I have a 7 week old and also 12 and 13 1/2 year old step children that live with us full time. I think teens are slightly more. I wasn’t able to breastfeed as planned so formula is pricey. I was gifted enough diapers through about 4-5 months which helps! I think it also depends on what all you get from your baby shower. I got about 90% of what I needed but I’ve spent a lot on baby still since he’s been born. Plus buying toys and activities for him in the upcoming months. My teens are homeschooled so we don’t buy a ton of clothes, but we did when they went to school. They each have specific hobbies that I pour a lot of money into for them. Plus extra curricular stuff so they can socialize. Also going out to eat and vacations are much more pricey with teens! They also eat me out of the house lol. Groceries can get crazy. And then there’s the cell phones and saving up for cars, and allowance weekly. I spend a good amount on all 3 kids but I think my teens outweigh baby cost lol.

I only have a baby for now so I can't guarantee I know for sure but I would guess teens are the vaccum of your life savings lol. I had practically nothing growing up as a teen cause my parents were living off of milk and bread but that all changed 20 years later when they had 2 new kids. I would see my mom spend hundredsssss of dollars on my siblings on the most randomist crap cause they "need" it for their social well being. Hahahahaha

I was talking about this with a friend because she shared a funny meme about her 30s being the same as her 20s only with more money because she has no kids. She’s my bff and she told me about it and I just looked at her and was like “realistically, my LO isn’t that expensive.” She even thought about it and agreed. Diapers and formula will be your biggest long run expense for that first year or so. After that, consignment can be your best friend. I would say teens are the most expensive group but I was never the type to ask for expensive clothes and things unless it was a birthday or Christmas type holiday and have always liked to look for deals. I easily dress my kids nicely with consignment clothes. My daughter isn’t due until November and I found brand new MK shoes in the box for $10 for her. Then, all the clothes and toys accumulated as they grow up get consigned and I buy more stuff for them in bigger sizes and it just kind of keeps rolling.
