TRIGGER WARNING (loss)
I know many in the group may have not yet given birth. However, some may have.
I am in a very unfortunate situation. It has been determined that my baby has a fatal diagnosis. He will not survive. We have gone through great lengths to do anything possible to save him (including fetal surgery). However, due to the grim circumstances we have chose to let him go.
Main question: Where should I look to donate breast milk?
The D&E procedure will take when I will be 20w 3d. I have a feeling my milk will come in. I am trying to anticipate the difficult emotions I’ll experience from that. However, I feel like donating my milk (if it does come in) may be very healing.
I don’t want to donate somewhere that charges parents an arm and a leg when their babies may benefit from breast milk instead of formula. I do know there are likely going to be costs to the recipient due to the process of sterilizing and preserving the milk. But I do want to find an organization whose goal is to help the babies in need and not add an additional burden to parents who want human milk.
