stupid question about weaning...

So my pediatrician told me that if possible I should BF until 9 months because then I could give cows milk. But now I’m reading stuff that says they need to be on formula if you’re not breastfeeding until 1 year? I’m a FTM so I’m just confused. We’re 8 months BF right now and she’s eating. Our schedule is below but if I have to give her formula until 1 year I might as well keep BF right?!?! HELP

8am WAKE UP - BF

9am - breakfast (usually fruit and/or oatmeal)

11 - snack

11:30- BF and Nap

1:00 - Lunch (meat, veg and a grain)

2:30 - snack

3- BF

3:30 - nap

5 wake up

5:30/6- Dinner (meat, veg and a grain)

8pm bedtime and BF

NB sometimes she wants a snack during the day ans will claw at my shirt so I BF in between too but it’s not all the time or everyday.
