I live in a mixed dorm (very common in Europe). We share a toilet on my floor and there were no particular issues, it was cleaned every two weeks, things were going well...

But then the lockdown started in March and everyone went home, except for a phd student.

I came back in June to take my online exams as I couldn’t stay home any longer, but then I noticed something.

That phd student, a man, constantly leaves the seat up. At first I didn’t mind because I had to go back to my hometown to work for the summer.

When I returned during the heatwave, I drank 5 litres of water a day so I had to pee more frequently, but I got so grossed out I almost had to puke.

The cleaning team hadn’t returned since mid-June, there was a WHOLE carpet of pubes on the floor and the seat stayed up!!

I tried to clean the hairs with some toilet paper but that was just nasty.

In the meantime the man had his friend over for two weeks. The seat stayed up every single time.

I gave up after a few days and decided to entirely disinfect the toilet, the walls and the floor and throw away my cleaning supplies afterwards.

I hung a note that said “PLEASE PUT THE SEAT BACK DOWN AFTER USE THANK YOU”

I was tired, in pain but satisfied. I left everything to dry and went on with my occupations. And then I found pubes again on the floor.

In a matter of A FEW HOURS?? But at least the seat was finally down.

I still decided to wipe it aside but it’s still coming back. And he still doesn’t give a sh*t.

I shouldn’t be crying about this. But it makes me so mad. There is no consideration. I understand that you would scratch your private parts, but not cleaning it up?? That’s gross. You are not alone in here, and you know that!! I can’t take someone else’s pubes back to my room!!!

I’m moving to a bigger room with a private toilet soon. Only one week to go.
