Strange situation...

Wanted to post this again with some updates:

So went for an US at 6 weeks ( was pretty sure of LMP and my ovulation date) and all the tech saw was a gestational sac and the doc said that either my dates are off and I’m earlier than I thought or nothing will progress. Also the vaginal US machine couldn’t measure the sac because it was too small. They took blood and my HCG was at a whopping 50,000 and told me to come back a week later. I just got back from the doc and now there is now a perfectly normal looking yolk sac but no fetal pole. Also my gestational sac is measuring 8 weeks! They took more blood and told me to come back in another week. The nurse practitioner looked perplexed and said it wasnt following the “normal” rules of pregnancy. If in fact I am a week earlier than I thought then I would be around 6 weeks today. I think also the thought is that we would see a fetal pole at this point with HCG numbers that high. The practitioner did mention a molar pregnancy but said we wouldn’t see a yolk sac with a molar. This also seems so strange and I’m so confused. I really hope next weeks US gives us some sort of definite answer. Anybody have any insight???
