What age is a baby ready to watch a movie?

I love movies so much and just wonder when that time will or can be. My baby is 9 months.

Your child shouldn’t watching anything until they’re at least 2 years old. They don’t need the screen time at all. Our 3 year old barely gets screen time. It’s unnecessary.

Whenever you want. My daughter is 2.5 yrs old and we usually have the tv on for background noise during the day. Sometimes Disney movies (Moana is a big one, Coco is her newest favorite.) TV shows, Bubble Guppies has actually become a huge thing in our household these last few weeks. The attention span isn't really there though. She'll run around playing most of the time. Every now and again she'll stop to see what's happening. She seems to really like movies with a lot of songs. ZOMBIES is a favorite. We all get up and have a dance party. When she is paying attention we try to engage her if the show isn't already. What color is his shirt? How do you think she's feeling? How many birds can you count? Which of the puppies is bigger and which is smaller? Simple things like that.

My daughter wasn’t interested in any sort of videos (YouTube, TV, movies, whatever) until she was about 18 months. Most toddlers won’t have the attention span for a movie. The longest my daughter has made it into a movie before losing interest is like 30 min. My daughter is 2 yrs 2 months and the only things she’ll pay attention to for more than 30 min is Blippi or Daniel Tiger. 
With that being said, kids aren’t supposed to have screen time before 2. Obviously I didn’t follow that anyway, just saying.

We don’t do screen time except for video calls until at least 2, and then it’s still very limited.  It’s not good for their developing brains to have screen time.

I’d wait until your kid is at least 2.5 to 3 years old, most young kids aren’t going sit long enough to watch a movie though

AAP recommendation is no screen time before 2, then max an hour a day. They don’t recommend more than an hour until age 5. Most movies are longer than an hour, so I guess technically 5... but after age 2 we let our LO watch one on a rare occasion, we do less than the hour of screen time most days, so I kind of look at it as it averages out 🤷🏻‍♀️.

No screen time until 2? We’ve seen 3 different pediatricians and all have said a bit of screen time is nbd at all. Also how the actual hell do you not have screen time? You never ever EVER have the television on while your kid is in the room? They never look at your phone or tablet?

Mine is almost 2 and has no desire to watch tv so it depends on the child and when they’re interested, but I wouldn’t suggest much screen time before two anyway
