The realization that I now have 2 children

I always knew I had 2 children but this just made it very official. I am 33 almost 34 weeks pregnant with a baby girl. Now I also have her brother or atleast her fur brother. He will be a year old on September 20th. He has never been sick in his life (we’ve had him since 8 weeks) and has always been a big chomper. In order to get the full view we had to move out of our house very suddenly after finally getting accepted into a house so everyone was packing and we even had my grandma fly out to come help us. I’m a teen mama so I still live with my mom and dad btw so this was not a small move. Now on Wednesday Cody (my puppy) started throwing up it wasn’t bad at all just twice that day and I thought it was due to stress as that was the day my grandma came into town and the packing got serious. He continued to get worse and worse he was lethargic, not eating or drinking much at all, and had vomiting and diarrhea. Thursday night came around and he threw up non-stop. I was thankfully able to get him an appointment in the vets the next morning where they then took X-rays and 2 blood tests that alone costed $400 (now let me remind you I’m a teen mom I’m living off of financial aid) once getting those results back they diagnosed him with hematoma gastritis, basically a VERY bad stomach flu and if it wasn’t treated he could potentially die from dehydration. So he stayed there for the day to get medication and some fluids and I picked him up that night. That totaled out to almost $900. The next morning he seemed a bit better but not a lot. He went in for a recheck and threw up at the vet but because he used to get car sick before all this happened I thought that contributed to it (as he had not thrown up all morning and was able to drink water and keep it down until then) so they said if he threw up to take him into the ER vet. He made it about another hour and threw up basically all the water he drank that morning plus some. I immediately took him into the ER vet and told them to do what they needed to do I didn’t care how much it costed. At this point he had gone down hill fast he couldn’t lift his head or move much at all. They decided to keep him over the weekend and for me this was the worst part because I didn’t want him to think I left him there but that was the only option as I couldn’t help him. I called atleast 3 times a day everyday and he was improving each time thank god! I just picked him up today and the total between both vets came out to about $1500 but he is so much better. He has TERRIBLE gas but other then that he’s eating and drinking and playing normally! I know this is such a random story but I wanted to share so people know that fur babies are family to and atleast for me anyways they will be treated as such! If anyone wants to follow the rest of his healing process I made him an Instagram!
