Dear God,

You’ve given me senses beyond what I can see or taste, touch or hear or smell.

So when my mother left her body, I could feel her warmth all the same...

You’ve brought me sorrow in measures I didn’t think I could bear, and yet I did. I do. Daily.

You’ve seen me tempted in ways which have disgraced and esteemed my character in turn.

I’ve been unjust and unkind, just and kind. Charitable and generous and greedy, forgiving and spiteful and petty.

I enjoy and despair in being human.

And in this human body, I’ve found love in a soul whose body fits so well with mine... in shape and in time... like we arrived together, made to do. I’m in love with him, Lord, and he makes me feel at home on this earth. He is proof of you like stars are proof of you, and the ethers are proof of you, and life is proof of you.

So I’m asking you for an easy rest of our lives... it’s a lot, and it isn’t. I’m asking you for blessings to pile upon blessings for each of us, and for us to be stable enough to build a life together... and have resources enough to build a family together with ease and a feeling of security. So that we can feel confident in our ability to protect, tend, sustain, educate, and raise children of our own.

I want us rocking soft in your arms, Lord. I’m ready for this love to give birth, to be fruitful and to multiply.... to honor him, and serve him, and laugh with him, and continue to feel cherished the way I do feel cherished... by your mercy and your grace. May doing so serve you.
