When is it safe to have sex after Depo shot?

I had my 6 week pp check a few days ago and got the get go to resume sex when ever I’m ready, I just got my depo shot today but have not had my period yet, am I safe to have sex or should I wait? The nurse did not give me any Information if I could or could not.

Just make sure you wear a condom for the next week if you do have sex and you’ll be fine!

If you just started and this is your very first shot then I'd definitely use a condom for a few weeks. I remember hearing that birth control can take up to 3 to 4 weeks to even begin working properly for your body. I'm not 100% about the depo but I would still use condoms to be safe for a few weeks or until you can ask your doctor or nurse? Can you call them to ask or even the pharmacy might be able to give you some info about it.
