Ovary/uterus pain?

I got on the hormonal birth control pill due to irregular periods and hormone fluctuations at 14, I am 17 almost 18 now and for the past week or so I’ve been having sharp pain on my left hand side ovary area, it’s tender to touch, feels like muscle spasms in that area when I pee, I get stabbing pains when I stand from sitting/laying, sit up after laying, or sit/lay after standing. I can’t even lay on my left side, and ibuprofen hasn’t helped. My mom said I should wait it out before going to the ob and I have a yearly checkup next month. I was wondering if anyone experienced this before and could help or if you think I should go to the doctors as soon as possible? I’d also like to add that I ave gained 4 pounds in the last week since the pain started as well.
