Question about OBGYN

This is my third pregnancy. But the first two seemed very different. I would have already been seeing an OBGYN that I had for both pregnancies, this time at 20 weeks I’m still just seeing my normal family doctor and I’m not pleased with what he’s been providing me. My question is anyone in Nova Scotia know if I could call my OBGYN and book my own appointments with him or do I need to have my family dr referral me to him (that’s what my old family doctor did in the past, i know have a new family doctor).
