Sleep training

I’ve been bedsharing with my son since he was about two months old. He’s now nearly 9 months. It was great up until last month when he started waking up every hour to nurse to sleep. I can’t sleep for shit and I’m exhausted. I’ve tried to cry it out a couple times and he would scream hysterically so I always gave up on the second night. Would it be too much on him to night wean cold turkey and cry it out at the same time? I just can’t deal with the sleep deprivation and I don’t know what to do.
