How long will chlamydia stay dormant, and how long before it develops PID? When will the symptoms show IF they do? Will you ever for sure get symptoms if you have it long enough?

I had it for a year and didn’t know it. (Got it from a boyfriend who said he was clean and I naive enough to believe him) I never had symptoms and I didn’t develop PID. But the longer you have the higher the chance of PID

I had chlamydia for about 3 years and had no symptoms. I only found out because I decided to get tested one day . It didn’t cause me PID tho and my Fallopian tubes didn’t get blocked either . It’s honestly different for everyone the best thing to do is get tested every time you have a new partner so that you can catch it and get it treated right away before it turn into something worst.
