Using birth control to skip periods

Sooo who has experience with purposefully skipping their period?

I’m currently living paycheck to paycheck because Covid really screwed me over. I can barely afford my bills and haven’t even gone grocery shopping in weeks. I don’t have enough tampons or pads to last my next period (due next week) so I was considering just skipping my periods for the next few months with my birth control since my insurance covers it. Just until I get back on my feet. I’m just nervous because I don’t want to mess anything up.

I know that doctors say it’s safe, but I just want to hear what actual people think. I hope to have kids some day, so I really REALLY don’t want to mess up my reproductive system. I know girls that have used the depot shot and can’t get pregnant now. I use the xulane patches so I hope it will be okay, but tell me your stories and offer me some advise if you wish 🥰
