Fake gender reveal???!!!

Question

Hello everyone!!! I’m looking for advice. So basically I am wanting to do the blood test that will tell me if I am having a little boy or a little girl. I’m wanting to keep it from my bf. Basically my reasoning behind this is that I really want to surprise him. He really wants a little boy and Although I’d really want one too I have a feeling it’s a girl. BUT I’d love to find out. 
So my plan is to go in to get some blood work done and have them tell me boy or girl. Then, if it is a boy I want to plan my gender reveal party. So basically my bf will think that my mom only knows the results and she will be planning it. But really I will know and I’ll be tricking him (and everyone else) that it’s a girl. Whatever I come up with it will be pink. THEN after we all have settled down and and everyone tells us congrats then I will bring the REAL surprise which will be either the cake, or a different balloon pop or something like that and it will be BLUE!!!!! 😏

Summary: You want to disappoint your boyfriend and then undo the disappointment. All of this occurs in front of friends and family, who will then find out that your boyfriend really wanted a boy and not a girl.

You seem pretty confident in your decision on handling the gender reveal. So why ask for opinions ? People are giving their opinions and you are just saying well my family has a sense of humor and would love it???? Okay so do it ? I personally think it’s a terrible idea but not my child nor family. I wish you the best though 😊

That sounds like an awful idea to me. No one I know would find that humor ok, and most would be hurt by that.

I guess I don’t get it. I mean I get it, but why bother to do all that? Make a big scene if it’s a boy but not if it’s a girl?...little odd in my opinion. My family wouldn’t be amused either. My husband and my family would be equally happy if we are having a boy or a girl 🤷🏻‍♀️

I wouldn’t do it, but that’s just me. Too many emotions already involved. With our first we had them write it down in a sealed envelope, went out to dinner just the two of us, and opened it together. That was an incredible surreal moment where we learned what our little person would be. I wouldn’t play games with my husband like that.

Kind of seems dumb and you’re going way overboard in my opinion. I don’t understand what the point is. Obviously everyone will be happy for you either way, so why go through all of the extra work for something that isn’t that cool in the end?

Take it from someone who had to go through something like this... I was praying for a girl with baby #2 and my SIL and Brother sprayed me with pink and blue confetti at first then they gave me a girl onesie and I started crying thinking it was actually a girl... then they said hey JK and brought out boy balloons. I was so heartbroken because my dream got crushed. This time around I’m not telling anyone the gender 🙄

This isn’t nice your joking about a child a precious thing that has been given to you. Whether it’s boy or girl you should be over the moon as there are millions of people out there that would give there left arm for a baby. I don’t want to sound mean but a joke like that should be saved for  pretending to eat his favourite snack.... not a child

I think everyone will be excited enough if you just come out with the blue cake or whatever first if it is a boy, instead of going through this whole big switcharoo thing.
