Boyfriend giving off weird energy after I told him I had BV

Ok so I had a Pap smear done 2 weeks ago and my doc told me I have BV. I’m being medicated for it. I have a gel I have to apply to the inside of my vagina every night before bed for 5 days. Well, he saw my bacterial vaginosis gel on my dresser and asked me what it was for. Since he’s my bf, I figured I’d tell him. I told him I have BV, which I didn’t have when I first started dating him but now I do. Anyway, he texts me about it and tells me I should douche after I clearly told him that douching is bad. This is also coming from the same man who I’ve had to tell numerous times to wash his penis because it smells BAD at times before we have sex. So now he’s acting weird because he read that bacterial vaginosis can be caused by women having multiple sexual partners, which I don’t have Ive only had sex with him since 2019. What do you all think I should do?
