Scared to go to the toilet - pinworms

Last week i felt something wriggle in my butthole and when i googled it, it all pointed to pinworms (threadworms)

I thought the wriggling feeling would go away and was probably just temporary because i had shaved the same day and believed it might be the cause. Since i had never heard of pinworms it didn’t even cross my mind that this could be it.

2-3 days later i decided to google it again because the feeling would come back every evening. I wanted it to stop so i went to the toilet for a number 2 and when i looked at my poo i saw a single white thready looking thing wriggle.

I have felt the wriggling feeling a couple times since then except for last night.

This was last Saturday evening. It’s now Thursday and i am terrified to go to the toilet. I really need to but i’m so scared i will see a lot more in my poo. My stomach keeps rumbling and it’s very pressing but every time i sit on the toilet the urge goes away.

I am traumatised. I don’t even know where i could have caught pinworms. I usually avoid public toilets but in the past few weeks i can recall using them a couple times. Once on the train a couple weeks ago and my work toilets 2 weeks ago.

How can i shake the fear?

I’ve ordered the medicine and it should arrive by Saturday.
