Most health insurance policies cover a pump (or at least sole of the cost). If you go to Aeroflow.com you can put in your insurance i formation and it will tell you what you are eligible for. There are also options to upgrade and it provides the pricing for that. I’m scheduled for a c section 10/22 and I’ve already received my pump. They will only ship it within 6 weeks of the expected delivery date (I think it’s 6 weeks). I’d definitely get one prior to delivery though.

Get a pump before delivery! I wanted to breast feed my son so badly but he never latched. Instead I exclusively pumped for him so he could still get breastmilk

Prior! The first few days of my milk coming through I was so sore and engorged, it helped to relieve the pain so much. It also helped me top up my boy in the first few days because he was jaundiced and wouldn’t stay awake for a whole feed.

I didn't. Bought a Haakaa just in case I need to save some milk for husband to use. But baby is the best breast pump. If you plan on being home anyway, I don't think you need a pump. You just have to be tough first weeks. Feeding when there is not much and feeding when it hurts. And make sure you ask a lot of help. First the latch and correct technique is key, that is the thing that gets your supply in. 
Three weeks later and my boobs are like milk fountains. My son gets too much almost, I see the milk flowing around and out his mouth while eating even, and if I touch my boob it splashes milk..
