Need advice..

I've been with my husband for years, his family and I don't get along and I don't know what to do anymore. I have tried but it seems like when we try they tend to take advantage or not care for the effort and don't really put any in themselves. I have also been in the "forget it and forget them" phase but I know it will make my husband happy to have everyone together. Any advice?
