What do large follicles indicate?

Hello,

Hoping for some info from more experienced users please. In July, I was having pre-operative tests for a laparoscopy and had an internal ultrasound. Whilst talking about my tests, the radiographer mentioned that my follicles were large and said the consultant would discuss it with me. She never did and I forgot to ask. I am going to follow up ASAP but I’m just wondering if anyone knows anything about what it might indicate? Thank you
