Moms and mommies to be, when was the moment you knew for sure you really wanted kids?

This is coming from a person who was adamant most of her life I didn’t want kids. Most of it stemmed from having bad parents growing up; absent father and emotionally absent mother and stepfather.

(Then throw in constant derealization in the mix and you can’t imagine yourself having kids being real when nothing feels real)

But recently I watched a dad playing with his daughter in a video while he described the fear he had becoming a dad and the joy it was replaced with when he finally got to know his daughter and something clicked. I fully can’t explain the feeling. The blurry picture of me with kids came fully into focus and I could not only see it but I FELT something. It actually scared me in the moment I started crying and I never cry. I just wanted to see if anyone had a eureka moment like I did.
