Silly question...

Maybe this will come off weird to some of you but my current boyfriend and I are designing my engagement ring and I've always loved yellow gold. So we had my ring drawn up and everything and I guess im just nervous because im prettttyy pale, I don't tan well i only burn and I have slight pink undertones in my skin. I've read everywhere that if you have cool toned, light skin not to go with yellow gold. Does anyone regret getting the metal they have based on their skin tone?
