why won’t my baby sleep at night

Question

he’s almost 3 weeks old.
during the day he sleeps no issue, he has awake time and everything. 
but at night he only wants to sleep on me and constantly nurse. 
he could be asleep on me but as soon as i put him down he wakes up. 
he will refuse the pacifier. he’s in a swaddle sack.
he will cry till he throws up. like why won’t he just sleep? i don’t know what else i can do to make him sleep.

Your baby has only been in this world for 21 days. Let that sink in and process it. 21 short days. I don’t say that to be nasty I say it because we all forgot that and expect so much from these little humans. We as mums get so much unsolicited advise, judgement and expectation but really your little one has only ever known being inside you and has never experienced being away from you and not constantly hearing your heartbeat. They don’t understand hunger or feeling hot and cold because they were always content and satisfied with you. You are their comfort and all they know. 
It’s okay to be frustrated, and when I say that I mean that for you both. You are both learning. Take it easy and slowly. You will both get there, you’ve got this! Don’t expect so much so quickly, congratulations Mumma!

There's also a growth spurt around 2-3 weeks old, and for some babies that means nursing like there's no tomorrow during the night.

Seems normal to me. My baby woke up every two hours to eat, especially at the beginning. You can try giving him night cues... like dark room, noise machine, but honestly 3 weeks is not enough time for him to figure out sleeping at night. Give him some time. Most babies will sleep better around 4-6 months, some even later. Hang in there! ❤️

It normal probably cluster feedining at 3-4 weeks my son did this and roughly 6 weeks than 9 ish weeks

Why would you let a newborn cry until he throws up? That sounds horrible... babies that young do not understand what is going on. Just like other commenters said, he’s only been in the world for less than 21 days.. do some research. Google everything if you don’t understand something or ask his pediatrician. But don’t just let a baby that small cry until they throw up please. Idk if you were saying he does that or if that’s just something you were saying just to say. Time to not be selfish anymore. You’re going to lose A LOT of sleep as pretty much ALL of us moms have. You’re not the only one. It’s hard especially when you are sleep deprived, but the main goal is to make sure that baby is fed, happy, and healthy.

Don't hold him all the time. It looks like he's getting used to being held all the time. When my son is fussy during the day I give him a pacifier and let him lay in his bassinet beside of me and he's chill. I refuse to get him into the habit of wanting to be held all the time and he sleeps beside of me at night with no issues. Babies develop habits easily. Also, his days and night might be mixed up.
I feed my son in the bedroom with a very dim light and he goes to sleep and only wakes up every 2 hours to eat. Babies can also easily get their days and nights mixed up so it's important to try and get them on a schedule
