Late ovulation?

So, me and my SO Decided to try for number 4. I've had periods since having my son but there not regular. The first two were close together. Then this one seems like I'm never gonna get my period. I'm 3 days late and I had three days of positive opks then last night it was negative and still no period. Also took a pregnancy test and nothing. Did I just ovulate late or what I'm so confused.
