I just gave my almost 1 year old a piece of candy was i wrong?

My husbands giving me shit for giving my daughter a small piece of starburst candy. Is it too early to give her stuff like that. Hes literally giving me an earfull of why why why

We chose to gave zero sweets until our kids’ first birthdays. Some parents choose differently, but you two need to communicate more effectively to be on the same page. Also, starburst seems too difficult for a one year old. Those are tough to chew.

My kids ate grass at 1. They arent always going to digest the greatest things. But i would say stay away from anything chewy. We would break off small pieces of anything new and only try one new thing at a time since you are still looking go allergies. But we would give them things like a big sucker and just rub it in their mouths. Just a small taste.

While I do think he needs to communicate more respectfully with you, I also think maybe from here forward you both should Cognizant about each other’s opinions about her diet. Try to come to a consensus about what you both think is healthy and acceptable for her.

I have given my 20 month old candy. I don’t do it very often and when I do it’s a treat for her and she knows that. A little candy isn’t going to hurt her or ruin her diet. I’m not an uptight mom though and I try not to over think things. My daughter eats pretty much anything I put in front of her and enjoys all foods. Try not to stress and communicate with each other. You will have to find some common ground.

I personally wouldn't have done starburst just because they're chewy and sticky. But it's not the worst thing she could eat (unless it was the orange one 😂😂)
