Does anyone else’s toddler have a dislike for their father ?

My daughter is 19 months and for whatever reason lately she has a dislike for her father. She’s obsessed with me but will cry and whine when dad picks her up or tries to give her some snuggles and love.   Does or did anyone else’s toddler do that? Is it just a phase ? What can we do to help get her out of it

It’s not a dislike it’s just she is used to one of you over the other.
Based on Freud theory it’s a sexual preference to the parent. (Not necessarily true but psychology wise it’s interesting to read) but it boils down to your kid knows you better, knows you more than dad and it’s normal for that cling to happen just be aware it does change when they get bigger. My soon to be 3 year old is still a mommy girl through and through but she loves her daddy and will invade his space and ditch me when he’s home but when she is sick or scared at night she comes to me she doesn’t want daddy.

My daughter was like this but ever since my husband started working from home, she is much more lovey with him. I think it’s because he has a much more active role with her-he gets her ready in the morning so I can get ready to go in to work and helps a lot more with bath time and her night time routine as well. Also, she’s 2.5 now, I think these things come in phases

Both my girls went through a phase like this but their dad works outside the home way more than I do so they are used to me taking care of them most of the time. 
My husband had to pick up some slack with them recently as I'm pregnant and need more time to rest and my younger one who was smack in the middle of her "I don't like daddy" phase suddenly snapped out of it since he is spending more time with them.

Yes!!!!! My son is like this. I think it's because he sees me the most. My husband works nights. It got better for a little but because he started staying home with his dad once a week, but now he can't because hubs has to work 6 nights a week, so we are back to being clingy to mama. I don't mind it so much, but I know it hurts my husband's feelings 💔

My son much prefers my husband over me. He’s always been this way. Even with my uncle when he’s at my aunts, my dad when he’s at my parents, and his great grandfather when visiting them. He loves guys...
