Labor and delivery refused to check me for amniotic fluid leak, is this normal?

I went to the ER tonight, I’m 15 weeks one day pregnant. I’ve been having lightning pain in my cervix and clear watery discharge gushing out periodically. My doctors office is closed until Monday.
The ER didnt have the tests and tools to do an ultrasound or to test if the fluid is amniotic. The labor and delivery floor refused to take me to test it because I’m not 16 weeks!!!!
I told them it’s a six day difference and I’m concerned. The most they could offer me is a pelvic to test for STD’s and BV. Then discharged me and told me to go to my OB Monday to test for amniotic fluid.
I feel like this is insane!!! Is this normal???

I meant to hit yes unfortunately the ER is horrible for pregnant women it's best to go to your ob. If it is fluid drink lots of water to replenish the fluid for your baby and BED REST!!!!!! Do not get up unless to use the bathroom. That's really the only thing you can do from home. Is your baby active?

Yes, most labor and delivery departments will not see you prior to 20 weeks, as it’s the point of viability. It’s standard practice. At 15 weeks, you are an emergency room patient. Unfortunately, other than recommending bed rest and telling you to follow up with your doctor there isn’t anything they can do for you, so there’s no need to send you to labor and delivery.

I have always had heavy watery discharge during my pregnancies. So much so it would soak my panties and run down my legs. I had it checked several times my 1st 2 pregnancies and it was always negative. It was just my normal. All 6 of my pregnancies ive had lots of watery discharge and frequent lightening crotch.

I had an enormous amount of brownish discharge one night when I was about 16 weeks pregnant with my twins. It was insane. I was freaking out and woke up my husband to come see. We went straight to the ER. They checked for me and it wasn't amniotic fluid. It happened for a few days after and just went away. Whatever it was scared the crap out of me but all was well. You've just got to think positively.
They wouldn't send me up either. You're not technically a labor and delivery patient until viability is reached. It sucks, but I'm sure they'd be so full if they took in early pregnancies also. Is it right? I honestly don't know, but they have those rules for some reason.
Just think positive, pray and stay off your feet. Call your doctor first thing Monday and tell them you'd like to be seen just to make sure everything is okay.

What does you not being 16 weeks yet have anything to do with it? I would of been raising hell. My water broke with my last pregnancy at 17 weeks. They should have at least a fetal Doppler or something. What do they do when people come in for labor. There’s no way they don’t own an ultrasound machine. Just sounds like they didn’t want to do their job. But If you haven’t already, I would call the on call doctor or midwife for your office and see what they say.
