Working through mat leave

Hey all,

Wanted to gather some opinions..

So my work is very seasonal. Ecological data collection outdoors in the summer & a few papers / grant proposals to write in the winter.

We’re talking more Netflix time than actual work from Jan - April.

My contract renews December 4, I’m due the 5. If I don’t renew my contract I lose the paid 2 weeks Christmas holiday & face headaches trying to get it renewed later on. Not to mention the 50% pay cut.

My goal is to hopefully renew right away and just work from home (office is closed due to Covid).

I figured a laptop in bed while I physically mend won’t be too overwhelming?

Thoughts?
