MIL with COVID

My MIL is also a nurse-- we only have my husband's family nearby to help us with our 6 month old. My baby has stayed the night at their house once since our schedule got messed up. For the most part, I take care of him everyday and only gone 4 nights a month when I work.

Well... my MIL got COVID Sept 26. She was told she's clear to go back to work Oct 6 but she wasn't feeling all the way good so she didn't work and then now she is on leave for her "vacation".

She feels so much better except the fatigue. Did a retest/reswab last Friday and results just came back STILL POSITIVE.

I've heard and read that people stayed POSITIVE for months even though they are not contagious. If I follow CDCs recommendations, she is good to go 🤔

I am scheduled for surgery this Thursday. Facility is 2 hrs away and hubby needs to drive me home. The plan was to leave our baby Wednesday night there and get him the next day when we get home.

I am still hesistant on bringing my kid there, so much more have her take care of him even though they say she's good. However, we really don't have that many option at all.

What would your opinion be? What would you do?
