Masks for visitors after birth?
Hi all, I am due in a month & struggling to decide on how to handle visitors after baby comes (this is our first). It’s COVID so I’m anxious about potential exposure to the baby. We are planning on having only my parents & my husband’s parents come at first but I know my sister & his sister (and his sister’s son & husband) will also want to come visit. Besides that we aren’t having any other visitors. I feel bad for asking them to wear a mask the whole time they are in our house but I don’t see another option if they want to see the baby in the first month of life. They will also all wash hands before holding the baby & have agreed to get flu shot & TDap shot if they haven’t already gotten it. I don’t know why I feel bad about asking them to wear a mask in my home too but I just can’t feel ok about someone holding my baby with no mask. They would literally be breathing in the baby’s face. For those who are about to give birth, what safety measures are you asking for with visitors? Thank you!
