Pulmonary Hypertension

Rebecca

Seeking anyone with experience or knowledge on what to do/outcomes... Can PH be totally pregnancy induced or am I looking at lifelong issue and heaven forbid limited lifespan?

After my last pregnancy I developed pretty serious preeclampsia and had to be hospitalized for a couple days. My only symptoms were that my swelling was not going down at all and I developed a cough... BP was great, but pulmonary pressures were elevated and then eventually everything started crashing after I was admitted (kidneys, liver, fluid retention was insane) and BP sky rocketed. 3 days on lasix and BP meds, and I was good to go. The funny thing is, I never really ever felt THAT sick...

I’m now pregnant with my second and feel good, but and am super nervous because after my 20 week ultrasound where they said baby looks great, the perinatologist called and I am being referred on for an echo next week to check for PH, as he suspects that was why I was preeclamptic last time and with CHD history in my family I’m freaking out slightly. Rookie mistake but of course I googled it and man, PH does not sound good when I Dr. Google it... 😳
