Convertible car seat+stroller OR travel system?

Question

I'd like thoughts, opinions, cost efficiency on comparing using convertible car seats and a stroller OR travel systems.
     
       We have one family car to use. 
** my first child was only able to be in the carrier car seat of our travel system until he was 9mos before we had to purchase the next level car seat. We had an Eddie Bauer travel system for $200, then the upgraded car seats were an additional $240, until my son is now 6 and in a booster seat.

I say the infant carrier is worth it especially in the early days. Much easier to pull out entire seat then to crawl in and unstrap baby from seat and gently scoop them up and then squirm back out of the car trying to keep baby properly supported.

I was lucky enough to find the urbini travel system on clearance so we will use that until she grows out of it and then I want to get a convertible car seat to grow with her.

I'm teeter tottering on the idea mainly because we'll be having spring/summer babies so I won't worry about it being to chilly outside while buckling them in plus I plan to baby wear, it's all about personal preference
