Assisted Driving, Co/Auto Pilot, & Distracted Driving

My truck has what Ford calls “Lane Keep Assist.” If I go towards the line on either side of my lane, the truck will push me back the other way to keep me in my lane. I was thinking about how this could encourage distracted driving, BUT at the same time, could keep people safer if they’re driving while distracted.

What are your opinions on this? Do you think it encourages and enables distracted driving? Or do you think people will continue to text and drive/eat and drive/makeup and drive/etc. no matter what and this is a good safety measure to prevent more deadly accidents?

Other manufacturers might have different names for it AND Tesla actually offers an Auto Pilot package that they’re continuously updating and making better.
