Night weaning

My son is 5 months old. During the day he nurses every 3-4 hours, but at night I’m lucky if he makes 2 hours between wakings. He’s had a few nights here and there where he’s had longer stretches of sleep, but it’s rare. I feed him on demand so I’ve been nursing him each time he wakes up, and most of the time he barely nurses for 5 minutes. Is he at a good age for night weaning? If so, what’s the best way to go about it? He occasionally takes a pacifier, but gets mad and spits it out when We give it to him most times. Don’t get me wrong I love the nightly snuggles, but I need sleep too. Any advice is appreciated!
