Discussing / displaying wealth

Do you find it tacky / rude / insensitive to discuss your earnings, particularly if you do do very well financially?

What about displaying your wealth on social media? Things like expensive cars, vacations, designer products?

Now that Christmas is really only around the corner and a lot of people are struggling especially since the pandemic, I’ve seen so many posts urging people not to post pictures of the Christmas presents they got for their children because it could be insensitive to people who simply can’t afford it this year. Especially people who post photos with a caption along the lines of “do you think I got enough?”

Do you think people should be sensitive? Or is it not their problem?

If you struggle financially, does seeing things online of this nature irritate you?
