Was I wrong?
My daughter is 2. I was driving to go see my family that is 2 hours away. I am 30 weeks pregnant and my daughter always throws things. So my pediatrician and I discussed if she throws a toy in the car she is not to have the toy to avoid her from hitting the baby. So anyways my daughter threw her toy and I said “okay honey I can’t get the toy for you. We do not throw things. If you throw something you no longer have it.” So my daughter had her tantrum and cried the entire way because I wouldn’t pull over on the Highway to get the toy. Anyways I get to my grandmothers house and my daughters eyes were red from the crying. She said
“She is sick she doesn’t feel good”
I replied
“No she was crying”
She asked why and I explained and she said
She doesn’t know any better. You can’t take her toys away or not give them back because you don’t like her throwing things. She is sick. I as a mother have motherly instinct and can see she is sick
And I replied
“Well im her mother and I know that she isn’t sick.”
Argument kept going on...
Then they know we have a rule of no soda. Every single visit they are shoving soda down her mouth. And I said something as I don’t want my little child to have any soda and they yelled and me and rolled their eyes and was over my crap that I think I know more about parenting my daughter. I got up and didn’t say anything and left. Was I wrong? Did I overreact?
