Dear Non Essential Workers,

I know this topic is well worn thin but damn I can’t deal with this shit anymore!

I work in retail and have been an essential worker throughout this entire pandemic and it’s really wearing on me tbh. No one wants to wear a mask and no one cares that manufacturers aren’t producing as they typically do. They all think COVID is an excuse, when it’s actually the reason for your unnecessary items aren’t making it to our stores.

I seriously have customers bitching about wanting certain toys in our toy section. I get it you need some joy in your life but it’s not my fault. I just hate the public at this point. Please just let me do what I can for you and then fuck off. I’m not ever trying to make your life harder, I genuinely want you to get what you need out of your shopping experience!

It’s unbelievable on how impatient and flat out disrespectful Americans in this country can be. After all my 18 years of living here (my whole life btw) this year has really proved how horrible the morals are here.

I am not ungrateful for my job at all. I deeply appreciate having one since many others have lost a job this year. But now on top of working a general retail job, I have to actually worry about my own health since some of you cannot stay home or prioritize what you actually need. Material things need to not be your top priority.

Our amazing and wonderful healthcare workers and any other essential workers do not need to be a punchbag for your frustrations. You do not get how hard this shit is.
