Need your opinions and help. Sorry long but trying to explain the best I can
So my baby turned one month old yesturday. For the past two weeks he always seems hungry, doesn't seem to have gained weight this week. I feel we eat every hour and he never seems satisfied. I don't think this is a growth spurt.
How much did your babies eat at that age? I've been going into work twice a week so have been pumping. He eats 4ml per feeding. I was getting that each time I pumped but now I'm not. I just realized I'm getting half that. I think this is why he's trying to eat so much and fussy; he's not getting enough from the breast.
He's been screaming inbetween feedings so I broke down and got formula yesturday. I fed him formula last night at each feeding and we went three hours instead of two. He went right back to sleep no fussing etc. Three nights in a row he wouldn't sleep just scream on breast milk.
So I found this great app recommended from someone on here and I've been tracking everything. He gets hungrier sooner on breast milk (feeding from a bottle now so I know he's getting enough), sleeps better on formula and gets full. My pumping sessions aren't getting a full feeding.
So questions how much did your one month old eat, how do I increase my breast milk, should I keep trying to breastfeed or just pump, If I breastfeed and he's still hungry should I supplement with formula and for those of you that do that how are you doing it, or should I just switch to formula. I feel bad but go back to work in two weeks and need to figure this out.
